Arsenal make concrete approach to sign international star, £44m deal could be agreed
Arsenal have made a concrete approach to sign Lazio ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and the midfielder is keen on joining the north London club next summer, as per the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.
Sports Witness cites and translates the print version of Corriere dello Sport as saying that Milinkovic-Savic – whose current contract will run until June 2024 – has made the decision to leave Lazio in search of a new challenge and his decision is now ‘irreversible’.
The report also says that the midfielder doesn’t want to leave for free so he wants to move away at the end of this season and Arsenal have made a firm approach to sign him. Milinkovic-Savic is open to moving to the Emirates Stadium in the summer after being impressed by the Gunners’ resurgence under Mikel Arteta this term.
Having asked over £85m over the last few years, the report suggests that Lazio could now lower their valuation and would accept a fee of around £50m (£44m) to let the Serbia international leave next summer.
“Arsenal have shown interest” – Journalist drops big claim on star Edu could land for nothing
Arsenal have ‘shown interest’ in Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans amongst other potential targets, journalist Rudy Galetti has told GiveMeSport.
Galetti has told GMS that Tielemans decided to ‘remain at Leicester’ in the winter window for various reasons and that he is ‘just one of the names’ being assessed by Arsenal.
He said: “I reported days ago, Youri Tielemans preferred to remain at Leicester in January to choose carefully the next destination in the summer and to maximise his new contract.
“Arsenal have shown interest in him, but Tielemans is just one of the names in their midfield list.”
Journalist: Arsenal and Man Utd interested in same striker, club want £80m
According to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, Arsenal and Manchester United will be looking to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the summer.
Vlahovic was on the radar of Arsenal back in January 2022 but he rejected their proposal to join Juventus from Fiorentina. This has not stopped the speculation that he could move to the Premier League and Ceccarini says that both Arsenal and United will compete to sign him at the end of the season.
He said via Juve News: “Arsenal had already tried to sign him before the transfer to Juventus. The idea remained and at the end of the season, a new attempt is very likely. In England, however, they are not the only one. Manchester United has also started to move. Overall, the situation is evolving.”
