Millions of fans around the world have fallen in love with the masterpiece, and now, after more than two decades, we finally get to see Mufasa and Simba’s wonderful bond in person.
After being spotted sharing a loving hug in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, this stunning lion duo has gone viral. The lovely moment was taken on camera by French photographer Sabine Bernert, and it immediately won the hearts of not only Disney fans, but also animal lovers all around the world.
The 53-year-old photographer was in the East African country to document the wildlife and shoot images for a children’s book, according to him. Of fact, what he unintentionally witnessed was far more than he had anticipated.
Bernert awoke early that morning and swiftly tracked down the father lion, who was alone on the savanna. Not long after, his youngster appeared, pretending to stealthily attack the adult lion, but his actions were not detected.
Bernert was surprised to learn that as soon as the real-life Mufasa saw his Simba, the first thing he did was affectionately hug him in his arms. Thankfully, the Paris-based photographer was present to capture the incredible moment and share it with the rest of the globe.
“Until the final second, the lion claimed he hadn’t spotted the cubs.” “They began to play joyously after that,” Bernert recalled. “My favorite part is when the male lion is lovingly caressing the cub. The immense size of his paw very delicately holding the little cub, the juxtaposition between his physical might and his compassion.”
