Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid are both members of the Worst Generation and have the same bounty. In a fight between the two, who would win?
One Piece doesn’t have a shortage of iconic characters, whether they’re good guys or bad guys. Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid are both members of the Worst Generation and have quite a fan following among viewers. They are introduced in the “Sabaody” arc and fought briefly alongside Luffy to defeat the Marines. The trio is infamous for always being at odds with each other. Although it is clear that Luffy is the strongest of the three, fans often debate who is the strongest between Kid and Law.
The gap between the two hasn’t been huge, and it has become even more difficult to figure out the stronger fighter now that they have the same bounty. After the chaos in the “Sabaody” arc, they reunited in the “Wano” arc and joined forces against Big Mom and Kaido with the help of the Straw Hats. They are both extremely strong and have improved in leaps and bounds since they last met. Moreover, they have the same three-billion bounty as Luffy — one of the highest bounties in history.
Trafalgar Law’s Powers, Strengths and Weaknesses
Law has been vigorously trained in martial arts ever since he was young. His haki is exceptionally strong, but he still relies mostly on his Devil Fruit abilities during battle. Law consumed the Op-Op Fruit during his childhood and gained its powers. The fruit works well with those with a medical background. As fans are already aware, under the influence of his parents, Law was studying medicine from a very young age, hence why this Devil Fruit is truly fitting for someone like him. He can create a transparent blue sphere and control the space within it during battle. He can also move, cut, and manipulate all that is within that pocket of space. Law can even swap living and inanimate objects, giving him an edge during battle.
Law carries a giant sword and uses it to cut things or people in the “room” he creates with his power. He also has a couple of additional techniques such as Gamma Knife, Scan, Injection Shot and Radio Knife that give him an edge in dire situations. The major drawback of his power is that he can only use it within the room he creates and cannot control the space outside it. Against a powerful opponent such as Doflamingo, Law faces several problems because of not being able to create the room on time.
Furthermore, even creating a room once takes a lot of energy. Therefore, Law has to use his powers sparingly so he won’t end up collapsing from exhaustion mid-battle. In the “Wano” arc, his Devil Fruit was finally awakened, making him able to conjure a variety of special room spheres that are applied directly to specific objects instead of designated areas. This means that these rooms move alongside whatever they are currently covering. This directly addresses his Devil Fruit’s biggest weakness, which is the stationary nature of its regular field of range. Law admits that he has not fully mastered his awakened powers, and using them still takes a serious toll on his stamina.
Eustass Kid’s Powers, Strengths and Weaknesses
Eustass Kid has complete control over all forms of haki. He has immense physical strength and endurance, which stems from his stubbornness against showing weakness, especially to Luffy and Law. Even being handcuffed with a sea stone prism, he is able to match Luffy’s speed in carrying and delivering giant stone bricks bigger than him. He also defeats Dobon, a Shinuchi of the Beast Pirates, alongside Luffy with the cuffs on. Although he loses one arm, it hardly brings him any inconvenience during battle.
He has the powers of the Magnet-Magnet Devil Fruit, which allows him to freely manipulate magnetic forces. He can attract and repel metal objects and create magnetic fields that allow him to arrange those objects into a weapon. His signature technique is to arrange the metal objects into the form of a gigantic metal arm to unleash powerful attacks. That is how he is able to make up for his lost arm. Kid can use a variety of dangerous metal projectiles such as cannonballs and bullets or attract his enemies’ blades and guns toward himself to use as materials for his own attacks.
Like Law, Kid has an awakened Devil Fruit ability that allows him to grant magnetic properties to a variety of both living and inanimate things. Although he admits to not having mastered his awakening, it still gives him an edge during battle. His Devil Fruit awakening has possible applications that do not rely on the user requiring metal from his surroundings, diminishing that specific weakness to an extent. However, one major drawback of his Devil Fruit is that the magnetic forces holding large metal constructs in place tend to weaken if he receives significant damage.
Trafalgar Law vs. Eustass Kid: Who Is Stronger?
Both characters are extremely strong in their own ways. While both have awakened paramecia-type Devil Fruits, a major gap in power could be that Law doesn’t possess Conqueror’s Haki. Although this type of haki isn’t necessarily effective against powerful opponents, it’s still a factor when comparing the overall strength between the two. In terms of fighting style, Law can show his full potential while supporting a powerful fighter such as Luffy. His abilities work best to give his allies an edge. Furthermore, although Law can hold his own against powerful fighters, he will lose stamina if the battle is prolonged. In the “Dressrosa” arc, his fight against Fujitora and Doflamingo drags on for longer than he anticipated, not even leaving him enough strength to escape.
Law is a genius who uses his wits during battle. On the other hand, Kid’s personality is similar to Luffy’s; they both charge straight into battle without a thought. However, this may not be a bad thing since Kid has more than enough strength to back up his recklessness. Unlike Law, his powers are extremely offensive, and he can deal first-hand blows without relying on his allies. Therefore, in a fight between the two — although it would be taxing for both of them — Kid would most likely turn out to be the victor.
