PSG forward Kylian Mbappé (24) took his responsibilities and spoke up in Les Parisiens’ dressing room following their 1-0 home loss against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The France international played only 30 minutes yesterday and his introduction seemed to have awakened his then-lethargic teammates. Mbappé put the ball in the back of the net twice, but his goals were disallowed after offside calls. After the game, the 2018 World Cup winner had given a public rallying cry to his teammates with a view to the second leg in three weeks’ time. “Our players have to be in good health for the return leg, everyone needs to eat and sleep well.”
In the PSG dressing room though, the tone was livelier. According to the outlet, Mbappé gave a leaders’ speech and did not hold back on using strong words to shake up his teammates, who have lost three games on the bounce for the first time since 2011. In not mincing his words against his teammates, Mbappé is showing he can be the PSG leader he craves to be, and the one Les Parisiens desperately need in such troubled times. With Les Bleus, the Paris-born forward also showed he can become a vocal presence in the dressing room when France trailed Argentina in the World Cup final.
