If there’s two glamorous brands that make a most natural fit, it’s Kardashian-Jenner and Hermès – both names which evoke an instant sense of ultra-wealth and aspirational luxury. Of course, the super famous Kardashian-Jenner family is well known for high style, kept in trim shape thanks to its members’ combined net worth of over US$3 billion.

Each Kardashian-Jenner lady has shown off a huge purse collection loaded with pieces from top-notch designers like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and Fendi. But it’s their enviable spread of ultimate luxury label Hermès and its iconic and exclusive Birkin collection that takes the crown. So not to be crude about it, but who is rocking the most exclusive and expensive handbag?

This bold Birkin Orange is a “close friend” of the oldest Kardashian sister. Kourtney “hangs out” with “her” very often, from casual strolls to enjoying the sun or taking a holiday trip, all clocked by paps around the world, where the piece effortlessly matches with her varied styles from casual to elegant.

The bag comes in the classic 35cm size, in togo leather and with gold hardware for a truly regal appearance matching its bright, ostentatious shade: because orange is an iconic colour that has long played a part in Hermès history.
In the Second World War, there was a shortage of the maison’s then-typical cream boxes, so the orange colour was used instead, and stayed proudly in place since 1942, making loud, proud orange the unlikely symbol of luxury. So today, according to Sotheby’s, this colour is the rarest of Hermès on the market, with the price of Kourtney’s piece reaching up to US$30,000.

This bag is made of Nile crocodile, rendered in a delicatcolorationon with images of the majestic snowy Himalayan mountains, thanks to a complicated dyeing process. It is regarded as the rarest handbag in the world as it may not be produced in the future, partly because of the fact that Niloticus Crocodile is an endangered and protected species. For all of that, a version with palladium hardware like that of Kris and Kylie was sold about three times more than its retail price at US$438,000 at Christie’s in 2019.
