The long-term future of Toni Kroos at Real Madrid is up in the air. While it is believed that the club want to hand him a new deal, there have been suggestions that the German midfield maestro is considering hanging up his boots after this campaign. Let’s see what the future holds and what he decides to do.
One player whose future at Real Madrid seems nailed on though is Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian winger scored the Champions League winner against Liverpool last season. And he put in another stunning performance against the Reds this time around, as Los Blancos walked out of Anfield with a 5-2 victory.
Vinicius has well and truly established himself as one of the best players of his generation, and might be one of the faces of the sport for years to come. And he seems destined to do it in the Royal White jersey.
For years, Vinicius’ place in the team seemed uncertain. There was no doubt about his talent and potential, but he was extremely inconsistent in the final third of the pitch. The Brazilian has taken his game to the next level since the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti as manager and established himself as a nailed on starter for Real Madrid.
Kroos makes exciting claim about Real Madrid teammate
As reported by ESPN, when asked if Vinicius can remain a flagship player in Real Madrid’s attack for many years, Kroos said about his teammate:
“Without a doubt. He hasn’t reached his limit. There are things he can still do better but what he gives us is already a lot.”
The German midfield maestro further went on to add about Vinicius:
“When we were 2-0 down and were suffering, his first goal meant a lot.
“He did it all himself, within a limited space, he was against two or three players and then he took that shot. That [goal] gave us life to the whole team. It was an individual play which means that he can do that and, depending on how he is, in the future, he is going to be among the best players in the world.”
Vinicius deserves a lot of praise for the improvement that he has made over the past year-and-a-half. He has gone from an inconsistent wonderkid to a world-class player. Of course, Ancelotti and his coaching team deserve credit for their role in his transformation. Hopefully, the Brazilian youngster will continue to improve from here and establish himself as one of the superstars of the game.
