Cristiano Ronaldo ignores young heckler taunting him with shouts of ‘Messi is better’ in the tunnel

Cristiano Ronaldo ignored a kid’s heckle about his ongoing battle with Lionel Messi, instead focusing on a difficult game in Saudi Arabia’s top flight.

Ronaldo failed to pick up a goal contribution during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 comeback win over Al-Batin, as the Portuguese star’s side only secured the victory in stoppage time.

It was a particularly tough first half for the Riyadh-based club, as they went in at the break 1-0 down to Renzo Lopez’s effort.

The performance led a young fan to taunt the 37-year-old by telling the Portuguese megastar in English ‘Messi is better’ as Ronaldo was storming down the tunnel.

However, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player seemingly just ignored the verbal comment, instead expressing frustration about the way the match was going – particularly when they were expected to be favourites for the clash.

Ronaldo loudly shouted in Portuguese ‘Easy game, f*** easy game’.

Whatever was said in the dressing room at half-time, it took a little time to change the outcome in the match.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb, Mohammed Al-Fatil and Mohammed Maran scored in stoppage time to secure a 3-1 win, although the final scoreline did not accurately reflect the struggles of the match.

There is a continual back-and-forth argument about which of the two elite footballers is the best currently plying their trade in the beautiful game, and it is something that will arguably never be truly settled.

Argentine World Cup winner Messi scored for PSG in their 4-2 win over Nantes on Saturday night, although the former Barcelona legend is also continually linked with a move away from the French capital.

MLS commissioner Don Garber said it would be ‘terrific’ if they were able to attract the 35-year-old to the United States of America, with Inter Miami the likely destination.

Ronaldo’s big-money move to Al-Nassr was instigated following his parting with Manchester United after his decision to make a media appearance voicing criticism of the north-west English club.

Close friends to the Red Devils gaffer Erik ten Hag have claimed he had to swerve psychological ‘MINES’ laid by Ronaldo during their time together at Carrington.
