Marcus Rashford will be bidding to close in on Cristiano Ronaldo‘s goal record at Old Trafford from 2008 when Manchester United host Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils bounced back from last weekend’s 7-0 loss at Liverpool in the Premier League by recording a 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Erik ten Hag‘s side will now be looking to return to winning ways in England’s top flight, and a success over Southampton would strengthen their grip on a top-four spot in the table.
Rashford has scored in each of his last seven home Premier League matches, registering against West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Leicester City.

Only two Man United players have managed to score in more consecutive appearances at Old Trafford in the Premier League, with Wayne Rooney second on the list with eight, which occurred between December 2009 and March 2010.
Ronaldo is at the top of the list, meanwhile, with the Portugal international finding the back of the net in 10 straight Premier League outings at Old Trafford between March 2008 and November 2008.
Rashford has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 26 goals and registering nine assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.
The forward has five goals and two assists in seven Europa League appearances this term, with Man United bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
Rashford also has one goal and two assists in three FA Cup outings this term, while he scored six times and registered two assists in six outings in the EFL Cup, as Man United won the trophy last month.

The Englishman has scored 14 goals and registered three assists in 25 Premier League appearances, meanwhile, to help his side sit third in the table.
Man United are currently only one point ahead of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, but they have two games in hand over the North London outfit, while the 20-time English champions are seven clear of fifth-placed Liverpool with a match spare over the Merseyside team.
Rashford only has a contract with Man United until the summer of 2024, but the club are in talks with his representatives over a new long-term deal.
Speaking last month, Red Devils boss Ten Hag said that the club were prioritising a new deal for the forward.
“Of course [Rashford’s new contract] is a priority,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports News. “We are working on that, just sit and wait, but in the background we work hard. Of course [we have to keep him].”
Rashford has now scored 119 goals and registered 66 assists in 344 appearances for the Red Devils since making his debut in 2015.
