The Kansas City Chiefs players are enjoying the offseason as Super Bowl champions but are still very intuned to everything happening in the sports world. March Madness typically takes over the sports landscape, with college basketball taking center stage in the tournament to crown a national champion.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has never been shy to comment on anything happening in college basketball, as he’s often shown his appreciation for the Kansas Jayhawks and his Texas Tech Red Raiders. The 2022 NFL MVP was vocal again on Thursday afternoon following along with the exciting finish of a first-round matchup between the University of Virginia Cavaliers and the Furman Paladins.
The underdog 13-seeded Paladins were able to pull off the upset in the final moments of the game. A steal and three-pointer in the final seconds sealed the fate of the 4th-seeded Cavaliers leaving the sports world stunned. The shock led Mahomes to hop on Twitter and share his thoughts by simply tweeting, “Virginia what are we doing?!?!?”.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?! 😨

The 68-67 victory for the Paladins moves them to the second round and may have possibly broken a few brackets (we’re looking at you, Patrick) along the way.
Virginia what are we doing?!?!?
