Fans may have thought Josh Hutcherson’s height was diminishing when he stood next to Jennifer Lawrence at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere in Los Angeles.
The 21-year-old, who plays Peeta Mellark in the hugely popular trilogy, looked tiny as he posed for photos with his costars on Monday evening.
Lawrence, 23, looked to be a whole head and shoulders taller than her love interest in the film, which was only exaggerated in a pair of high, platform heels.
Revealing: Jennifer Lawrence appears much taller than her costar Josh Hutcherson at the LA premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, when they were pictured with Elizabeth Banks and Liam Hemsworth
In film posters for the movie, Hutcherson appears to be taller than the Oscar winner, who is returning to the role of Katniss Everdeen.
However the illusion was squashed when 5ft 7in Hutcherson walked down the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre with his co-star.
Lawrence, who is thought to be 5ft 10in, has previously joked that she feels like an ‘ogre’ in heeled shoes.
She said: ‘I’m at that awkward height where I’m already kind of tall, so when I put heels on, everyone is like: ‘Oh, well, where’s the ball?’

Height order: Lawrence is nearing the same height as Liam Hemsworth in her platform heels
The actress showcased her beautiful body in a very dramatic Christian Dior dress for the event, sporting a black strapless leotard under a floor-sweeping dusty blue gown that was entirely sheer.
The Dior frock was cinched in at the Silver Linings Playbook star’s waist with a clunky black belt and she teamed it with her Brian Atwood sandals and a Roger Vivier clutch bag.
While Josh picked a navy three-piece suit by Dolce&Gabbana, printed purple tie and like Liam Hemsworth, was sporting dress shoes.

Camera trickery? The film revisits the pair after they win The Hunger Games
In this movie, the audience rejoins Katniss and Peeta after they have returned home to District 12, following their rebellious win on the 74th annual Hunger Games – the viscous sport which sees 24 children battle to the death as part of the televised entertainment for the greedy Capital.
But rather than enjoying the life of victors, Katniss faces the wrath of President Snow, who sees the ‘girl on fire’ as a threat to the social structure of Panem.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is already drawing in rave reviews from critics, and is scheduled to hit cinemas in the UK on November 21 and the US on November 22.
