Expectations are high for Erling Haaland after making his £51m move to Manchester City this summer, but he has suggested that he is definitely up for the challenge with a social media post
The arrival of Erling Haaland at Manchester City has sparked plenty of excitement at the Etihad Stadium, and the striker is only fuelling the anticipation.

The Norwegian striker posted two photos of himself as a toddler wearing a City shirt. On the back, a young Erling had ‘Dad 15’ printed on the back, with his father Alfie Haaland playing for the club between 2000 and 2003.
He captioned the tweet: ‘To be continued…’, with a blue heart and a ‘soon’ emoji. Of course, the message sent the City faithful into a frenzy, with many eagerly awaiting the official announcement – that now appears to be just around the corner.
Haaland scored 22 and assisted seven in 24 appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season, confirming that he is one of the most exciting young talents in world football. Signing a striker has been a priority for City boss Pep Guardiola for over a year and surely the Spaniard has no excuses for not winning the Champions League next season now.
Reacting to Haaland’s tweet, one fan wrote on Twitter: “Winning the golden boot next season.” Another added: “Oh my goodness, we’re winning it all.”
Manchester City’s official account also weighed in, replying: “See you soon!”. Given that City won the Premier League last season with just one proven striker on their books, Gabriel Jesus, many feel it will be hard to peg back the reigning champions next season.

But City’s summer spending spree is far from over. Guardiola’s side are reportedly interested in Leeds midfielder Kalvin Philips, who is seen as the ideal replacement for captain Fernandinho – who left at the end of this season.
Manchester United have also been linked with Phillips, but whether the England international would sacrifice his reputation at Elland Road for the move to Leeds’ rivals remains to be seen. City are also keen on Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella, who impressed in his first campaign in the Premier League.
The Spaniard thrived for the Seagulls, being deployed as a left-back, left wing-back and as a left-sided centre-back in a back-three on occasion as well. However, there is plenty of competition for the former Getafe defender, with numerous top European clubs reportedly keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.
