Jennifer Lawrence looked back on the dark side of when she achieved global superstardom through The Hunger Games.
After the movie came out in 2012, she admitted to feeling like a ‘commodity’ and ‘lost a sense of control,’ she said during an event at the London Film Festival.
‘When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, [because there was] just a loss of control,’ the 32-year-old actress recalled, according to Variety.

She made the remarks to Francine Stock during an onstage interview for the London Film Festival’s Screen Talk series.
‘I think I lost a sense of control,’ she said. ‘Between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar [for 2012’s Silver Lining Playbook], I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.’

She has managed to wrest back the control that she lost, and the process of making movies now ‘feels personal for me the first time in a long time.’

When the Me Too movement took off early in her hiatus, one of Harvey Weinstein’s accusers claimed that the producer told her: ‘I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar.’
Jennifer staunchly denied that she ever had sex with Harvey, issuing a statement at the time saying: ‘My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein…. I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him.’
She went on: ‘This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women.’
