Teenage actor Tom Holland still lives with his parents but he is set to become a household name and be quids in as the new Spider-Man.
The 19-year-old Brit has been named as the man who will play the web-slinging super hero in a forthcoming movie.
Industry experts say he will net around £1million for his role in the Spider-Man film, which is due to be released in 2017, and a cameo appearance in a Captain America movie out next year.
A source said: “Winning the part is life-changing for Tom and his family.
“It will earn him a fortune and open many more doors for his career – and he is still only 19.”
Dancer Tom, who has three younger brothers, played the title role in Billy Elliot on stage in London’s West End between 2008 and 2010 and is also a freerunner.
Tom won the part of Peter Parker/Spider-Man to the delight of his dad Dominic Holland, a stand-up comedian who has been on the circuit for more than 20 years.
He won the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1993. and has appeared on Have I Got News for You and They Think It’s All Over but has never quite made it to be a household name,
Yesterday Dominic, 48, was clearly excited about his son’s new job.
He tweeted: “This morning I had 4 sons and now I have 3 sons and 1 spider – typical of me to be gigging and missing all the fun at home #spiderman”
Previously after he landed a lesser film role, Dominic admitted in 2013 his son was already a big star.
He said: “Standing next to me in the immigration queue at the airport in Los Angeles, I realised that, at the tender age of 16, he had already eclipsed his father’s own showbusiness career.”
Friends say he intends to keep his feet firmly on the ground and is staying with childhood sweetheart girlfriend Elle Lotherington.
They met as pupils at the Brit School, in South London, famous for churning out stars such as Adele, Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks.
Tom’s blogs and pictures on social media also show his incredible acrobatic skills as in jumps through the air in videos. The skill known as ‘free running’ will come in handy as Spidey climbing from web to web
It also helped to be flexible when he was on the stage of Billy Elliot in London’s West End from 2008-2010.
To mark the fifth anniversary of Billy Elliot the Musical, four current Billy Elliots, including Holland, were invited to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
He then moved into acting on-screen landing roles including a part in BBC period drama Wolf Hall.
Tom’s favourite film is Saving Private Ryan.
He lives with his parents and three younger brothers who are Paddy and twins Sam and Harry.
Tom is also a big fan of hip hop and did lessons at Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon, London.
Tom, of Kingston, South West London, will fly through the air in the Marvel Studios film.
But pals say he loves nothing more than playing footie in his Arsenal kit with his brothers, and will have no trouble keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
