The veteran Croatia midfielder could seriously consider leaving the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
As things seem to be about to be settled on Luka Modric’s contract extension then in the last few hours there has been a significant shift that could see the Croatian leave Real Madrid. The veteran midfielder is not very happy with the way President Florentino Perez and the Madrid sports leadership have handled his contract extension and this could mean his final goodbye. with the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Sport, Modric is quite frustrated because he knows nothing about Real Madrid just two months after the end of his current contract. The Croatia international wants to close the deal as soon as possible but it seems that Los Blancos are waiting for the official season to end before making a decision, which they usually do with players who need to renew but are over 30 years old.

According to the same source, the relationship between Modric and Real Madrid is not as idyllic as it was a few months ago because the player is very unhappy with the attitude of the club towards the contract extension. This means that the 2018 World Cup runner-up is considering a new team change at the end of the season. Remember, just a few months ago, the player born in 1985 only thought of retiring as a Real Madrid player.
Aware that sooner or later they will part with old players like Modric or Toni Kroos, the leaders at Real Madrid are also looking for bright names to replace. In particular, Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is currently emerging as one of the top candidates.
According to Top Mercato, the Serbian midfielder has only 1 year left on his contract with the Italian capital team and is currently catching the eye of president Perez. If nothing changes, Savic will receive a transfer offer from the White Vulture at this year’s summer market.
