Hennessey’s Ford Bronco Raptor VelociRaptor 500 Unleashes Its Roar On The Dyno

Hennessey Performance does some chassis dyno testing on its VelociRaptor 500 upgrade for the Ford Bronco Raptor.

The Ford Bronco Raptor is the only mid-sized off-road vehicle that is specifically designed to tackle the terrain with 4WD independent front and rear suspension. This brutish SUV may not have a V8 engine, but Ford did manage to fit in a 418-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 motor that delivers 440 lb-ft of torque to get this bad boy to where it needs to go.

Hennessey Performance, no stranger to the power game, saw the Bronco Raptor and thought to themselves: “I’ll see you and raise you, Ford.” From there, the VelociRaptor 500 upgrade was born, giving the Ford Bronco Raptor a commanding 20 percent boost over the factory engine.

Renowned for its ability to push virtually any model to the ultimate level, Hennessey Performance took the Ford Bronco Raptor under its wing and treated it to the VelociRaptor 500 package. This is, in fact, the eighth VelociRaptor model to come out of the Texas-based high-performance manufacturer’s development team.

In the video above, the Hennessey team takes the Ford Bronco Raptor VelociRaptor 500 and throws it on the dyno for some chassis testing to see what this resurrected icon can truly do. The results were on par with what this performance package promises and it’s incredible to see what an off-road 4×4 SUV like this is capable of when you test its limits. The end result shows a dyno sheet displaying wheel horsepower going from 323.43 to 400.80 hp while wheel torque also gets a significant increase from 384.71 to 428.77 lb-ft.

Inside The VelociRaptor 500 Upgrade

Engineered to be more potent and capable than Ford’s factory Bronco Raptor engine, Hennessey’s engineers drew from their extensive backgrounds to deliver immense power via the 4×4’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. Thanks to a new high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, a proprietary engine management system, and high-flow exhaust mods, the Bronco VelociRaptor 500 delivers 500 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of terrain-conquering power. Hennessey Performance didn’t stop there, though, as they also lifted the Bronco Raptor three inches higher and adorned it with their Heritage graphics and a bucking bronco.

The new high-output Hennessey model also vastly increases the SUV’s capability and delivers blood-pumping adrenaline in every scenario, adding both serious speeds out on the road and ratcheting-up off-road prowess on the trails. If this sounds like your cup of tea, you can get the Hennessey Performance VelociRaptor 500 starting from $32,950 – exclusive of the base Ford Bronco Raptor.
