In a video message shown on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39, Dwayne Johnson gave a shoutout to the fans watching, NXT, and his daughter Simone Garcia Johnson, who recently made her debut at Stand & Deliver. She performs under the ring name of Ava Raine. Moving ahead, Johnson then addressed the WWE performers and gave them the motivation to create their own “WrestleMania moment” and “make history.” He continued,
“Two things that I always underscore; move the crowd and have some f*cking fun. Even though what we do is really intense, if you have fun, the crowd knows that you’re having fun and you pull them in and you’re creating that incredible, iconic WrestleMania moment. Go out there and kick a*s.”
Johnson then talked about the main event of Night 2, which was a match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. He stated that there might be a possibility that sometime in the future, the two wrestling legends will have another go in the ring. Needless to say, fans are super excited about the possibility as they have been dreaming of a Reigns vs. Johnson match for what seems like an eternity!

Kick ass, electrify SoFi stadium do what you do, it is in our blood. Who knows, maybe, just maybe, down the road, I’ll see you in person. Maybe. I’ll just leave it at that.”

Now that we have established that Johnson is in the mood to battle it out with Reigns, we obviously want to know what the latter’s opinion on it is. Well, it looks like Reigns isn’t opposed to the idea either as he is all about giving the fans what they want. Talking to ESPN, Reigns stated,
“I think anybody would love to have that match. They’d be lying [if they said they didn’t. I could ‘Tribal Chief’ you and say, blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, I want what’s going to be the biggest for the fans because that’s going to reflect what I was able to accomplish. And if that’s one of the biggest ones out there, let’s do it. But if not, like everything else in life, we’re going to roll with the punches.”
Since we now know that both sides of the duo might be interested in a fight, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before we see Johnson and Reigns battle it out in the ring.
In other news and what seems like a huge déjà-vu moment, mirroring the historic events after UFC 200, Endeavour (the holding company of the UFC) bought WWE. They apparently edged out the Saudis, Fox, Disney, and Comcast to land what is now one of the biggest deals in sports entertainment history.
Vince McMahon would reportedly serve as the executive chairman of the new organization, while UFC boss Dana White would continue in his role as UFC President. The merger has huge ramifications that would unfold in the coming time and is nothing short of a revolution in the world of sports entertainment.
