Lisandro Martinez again drew praise from Manchester United fans over the way he dealt with Everton striker Neal Maupay during a mid-match altercation.
On Saturday afternoon, Sean Dyche’s Everton side arrived at Old Trafford looking to distance themselves further away from the relegation zone.
United meanwhile were hoping to build on their mid-week 1-0 win over Brentford.
Erik ten Hag’s men came out on top as goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial sealed a 2-0 win.
However, it was an altercation between Martinez and Maupay which got United fans talking. You can watch the footage below.
Martinez was speaking to the referee before Maupay tried to drag the Argentine away.
However, the United defender was not having any of it and had some stern words for his opponent.
United fans were quick to react on social media.
One said: “Don’t mess with our Licha.”
Another tweeted: “Martinez is taller than Maupay lol.”
A third fan added: “Love him so much.”
Someone else wrote: “Martinez schooled him.”
Whilst a fifth commented: “Like always, he makes strikers so frustrated.”
Since joining the club in the summer, Martinez has quickly become a favourite amongst the United fanbase due to his no-nonsense style of play.

Reflecting on the match, Ten Hag urged his players to be more clinical in the future.
The United boss said: “We have to be more clinical and more ruthless and this game has to be finished by half time and we didn’t.
“But it is still a very good performance and it is still a big compliment to the team.”
Up next for the Red Devils will be the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Spanish La Liga side Sevilla on Thursday night.
How many trophies will United end the season with? Only time will tell.
