The NFL is full of players that are active on social media.
Many players use Twitter to interact with fans and keep up with all things around the league.
Twitter recently had a purge of most accounts that had a blue verified checkmark.
Many celebrities are refusing to pay to be verified on Twitter, but Elon Musk has stepped in and granted some celebrities the verification.
Musk is the CEO of Twitter and has made plenty of changes since taking over.
One NFL player that lost his verification was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
So Mahomes contacted Musk directly on the platform to try and get his checkmark back.
Appreciate it @elonmusk https://t.co/fCDIMcbO7x

It worked as Musk granted Mahomes the verification.
Musk did the same thing with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
Removing the verified checkmarks is a dangerous move by Twitter.
It creates the opportunity for many fake accounts to be created and spread inaccurate information.
Trying to decipher which information is real or not can be a struggle for many Twitter users.
Still, Twitter has become one of the most used social media platforms.
It is a great place for users to find all types of information.
Also, some of Twitter’s features like “spaces” allow fans to interact and talk about different topics.
Musk’s hands have been full since taking over Twitter, as the verification issue is his latest problem.
