After dominating the domestic box- office on the firt day in India, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s film ‘ Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’ continues its juggernaut run on the second day as well.
According to the latest report on the Boxofficeind the film which opened to Rs 11 crore saw a marginal growth as it collected another Rs 11.75 crore on its first Saturday, taking its overall total to a stupendous figure of Rs 22.75 crore in just two days. The release of ‘ Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’ aslo impacted the collections of Sonakshi Sinha’s film ‘ Khandaani Shafakhana’ which failed at the box- office.
The David Leitch directorial which also features Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren is the ninth instalment and a spin- off to ‘ The Fast and the Furious’ franchise, The franchise is among the top ranking Hollywood franchises in India along with ‘ Avengers’,’ SpiderMan’ and ‘ Mission Impossible’. Apart from Hindi and English, the film has also released in Tamil and Telugu languagesin nearly 2,100 screens across India

According to the latest report on the Boxofficelndia. com Friday, the film has managed to collect a total of Rs 11 crore on its opening day at the box office. The opening day was a little better than ‘ Spiderman Far From Home’ and in the same range as the recetly released ‘ The Lion King’.
The opening day collections of the film is the sixth- best ever for a Hollywood film in India. However, they are less than the previous film of the franchise as ‘ Fast & Furious 7’ had collected Rs 12 crore plus in 2015. The franchise is among the top ranking Hollywood franchise in Idia along with ‘Avengers’, ‘ SpiderMan’, and ‘ Mission Impossible’. The film released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu languages in 2,100 screens across India. The Hollywood film clashed with Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘ Khandaani Shafakhana’ at the box office.
Directed by David Leitch of ‘ Deadpool 2’ fame, the film aslo stars Idris Elba Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren in pivotal roles. The film hit the sceens on August 2.
