Mbappé currently leads Ligue 1 in goals scored at 24, and a win against Troyes will see them increase their lead over RC Lens at the top of the table.
With Lionel Messi out due to suspension and Neymar Jr. out injured, Mbappé has to carry the scoring load for PSG and so far, he seems up for the task.
After a tumultuous week, Paris Saint-Germain travels to the Stade de l’Aube to take on ES Troyes AC in Ligue 1 action.
This is the 33rd competitive meeting between PSG and Troyes, with Les Parisiens recording 21 wins and only four defeats. Christophe Galtier’s squad will need a win today to stay atop the Ligue 1 table. Coming into the match, PSG’s lead has been cut to three points ahead of RC Lens.
With Lionel Messi suspended and Neymar Jr. out injured, it will be up to Kylian Mbappé to carry PSG. The Frenchman lines up alongside youngster Hugo Ekitike in the attack. Mbappé leads Ligue 1 in goals scored, and he will no doubt be motivated to stay there and win the Golden Boot.
In the midfield, Galtier will go with Vitinha, Marco Verratti, and Fabián Ruiz. With rumors that Verratti was unsettled following the recent protests over Messi’s suspension, it will be interesting to see how he performs.
In defense, Marquinhos (captain), Sergio Ramos, and Danilo will form a back three, and Warren Zaïre-Emery and Juan Bernat will push forward and try to join the attack. In goal, Gianluigi Donnarumma gets the nod.
The bench selection is interesting because of the number of youth players. Ilyes Housni, Ismaël, Serif Nhaga, and El Chadaille Bitshiabu are all available, along with Renato Sanches, Carlos Soler, and Alexandre Letellier.
A win today and PSG will have one hand on the Ligue 1 trophy.
