They’re both entertaining audiences on a nightly basis by performing on Broadway.
However, when it comes to leaving the stage door and greeting autograph hunters, it appears Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Chastain have very different styles.
While native New Yorker Scarlett was covered up from the cold in a cap, scarf and bulky coat, Jessica opted for a chic double-breasted, more tailored wool creation.
Winter chic: Jessica Chastain’s red hair adds a colour injection to her chic black coat as she leaves the Walter Kerr Theatre on Thursday night
Bundled up: However, Scarlett Johansson is clearly opting for warmth as she covers up as she leaves the Richard Rodgers Theatre
With her red hair hanging loosely after spending the past few hours on-stage in an uncomfortable wig, The Help star, 35, happily posed outside the Walter Kerr Theatre with her The Heiress co-star Dan Stevens.
Meanwhile, Scarlett, 38, signed a few autographs for fans before she made her way home for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
While The Heiress opened in November and is set to end in a month, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is currently previewing, so reviews aren’t expected until after opening night on January 17.
Firm friends: Jessica poses outside with her co-star Dan Stevens
Jessica has received mixed reviews for her portrayal of Catherine Sloper, while her on-stage love interest Dan has been roundly praised by critics.
Meanwhile, both actresses have been talking about their attitude to love in interviews this week.
Jessica admitted she had a rule to never date actors.
She told InStyle magazine: ‘I have dated an actor before, at Juilliard [drama school], but since then, I’ve only been on a couple of dates with one and I was so freaked out someone was going to take a picture of us, because they were famous.
‘I realised I wanted just to be able to hang out with someone… And I didn’t want to talk about the business, first of all. I love movies. But I love talking about them like when I was 15 years old. I’m a film fan, but I don’t want to talk about auditions or what movie I’m gonna do. I find that so boring.’
Meanwhile, Scarlett admitted she was in no rush to get married again after divorcing Ryan Reynolds in 2011 after three years of marriage.
However, her Canadian ex didn’t hang around and tied the knot with Blake Lively in September 2012 after a whirlwind 11-month courtship.
Mobbed: Scarlett was greeted by fans wanting autographs outside the theatre
Native New Yorker: Scarlett grew up in the Big Apple so is used to their biting winter temperatures
Scarlett told Elle UK magazine: ‘I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It’s hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn’t mean you have to be married. I never think about marriage.
‘The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me: ‘Would I get married again?’ It’s really not important to me.
‘It has no relevance to me right now. I’m not having kids anytime soon, I’m in a nice relationship, I’m working a lot and, like I said, it’s not important to me.’
