Anthony Martial storms down the tunnel after being substituted for Wout Weghorst

Anthony Martial stormed down the tunnel following his substitution against Bournemouth on Saturday, angering fans online.

The Manchester United star started up front at the Vitality Stadium but failed to make a huge impression up front before being dragged off by Erik ten Hag.

He was replaced in the 57th minute as Weghorst entered the fray to the frustration of the Frenchman, who cut a bemused figure as he trudged off the pitch.

Martial didn’t looked pleased with Ten Hag’s decision and went straight down the tunnel, according to reports.

His reaction didn’t go down well with some Man United supporters as they made their feelings known on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: “Disrespectful, didn’t even have a good game to be upset at getting subbed.”

A second argued: “Probably thinking why me, looked decent at times and he takes Weghorst on. Weird from ETH, unless martial is injured.”

A third tweeted: “Don’t blame him, he was just starting to cook. Ridiculous sub.”

A fourth wrote: “Anthony Martial straight down the tunnel, should get sacked.”

Another commented: “Get him gone this summer!!”

Martial has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, having been blighted with injuries. He has five league goals to his name this campaign.

He was unable to add to his tally against Bournemouth as he remains the subject of intense transfer speculation.

Martial has been at Old Trafford since 2015, but his time at the club appears to be coming to an end with a summer move mooted.

Despite Martial’s inability to influence the match, Man United ran out 1-0 winners against Bournemouth.

Casemiro scored the only goal of the game as he produced a moment of magic in the eighth minute.

He scored an acrobatic scissor kick goal to put Man United in a good position to finish in the top-four.
