Mom Gave Birth To Triplets Shows Super Real About Her Postpartum Body Before And After Childbirth
One mom of multiples is giving us insight into her life with beautiful and raw photos. She’s documented her pregnancy and postpartum journey for the world and it’s starting important conversations on the reality of having triplets.
” I have one child and believe me when I say that he is a handful. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have twins or triplets and I can’t even imagine how much work parents of multiples have.” Maria said
Maria Nordo Jorstad and her husband, Anders, are parents to their two-year-old son, Mikael. At her first ultrasound, Maria learned that she was expecting triplets. This came as a complete shock because Maria and Anders had conceived without any fertility treatments. The chances of having spontaneous triplets are extremely rare.
In fact, according to Huggies, 85% of triplet babies are conceived through fertility treatment. That means there was only a 15% chance of this happening — but it did!
She documented her journey through the Instagram account @triplets_of_copenhagen. Photos of her baby bump quickly went viral and people began taking an interest in this growing family. This progression photo shows how much Maria’s body changed during pregnancy.
Every mom’s pregnancy is unique and adjusting to a changing body can be difficult for some. By sharing these photos, Maria is helping other moms who are going through a similar experience.
On September 12, 2018, the family welcomed their new members. Maria gave birth to two girls named Agnes and Iben, and a boy named Filip. Maria continued posting updates about her postpartum life, sharing her ᴘᴀɪɴ and sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇs.
Her picture was taken two days after she gave birth to the triplets. At the time, Maria was in a lot of ᴘᴀɪɴ and trying to recover from her C-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ.
Maria doesn’t hold back when it comes to discussing her postpartum body. People think that women bounce back immediately after giving birth, but that is not common. It takes time, especially if you’ve had multiples.
For now, it looks like Maria will continue posting updates on her life as a mom to four children.
