Manchester United are in the market to finally replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo is far gone and now history in the mind of some Manchester United fans but Erik Ten Hag is bent on replacing the Portuguese superstar and beefing up his squad with another highly rated star.
The Red Devils are currently light on attacking firepower and Ten Hag has not hidden his desire to fill the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo following his explosive interview with British journalist, Piers Morgan. Last week when asked, Ten Hag told the press his desire to sign a quality player.
“We need good players. Not only numbers, you need quality players to cover that and also that you need competition. And you need also that you can make tactical choices. So, we are looking for the right player for our squad and has to match our sporting criteria but also our financial criteria.” Ten Hag said.
Initially, Manchester United had eyes on Dutch star Cody Gakpo, before Klopp’s Liverpool sealed the deal for a reported fee of $44.6 million last Wednesday. Now United have turned their focus to another star.
Reports emerging from Sky Germany has it that United are keen on replacing Cristiano Ronaldo with Eintracht Frankfurt star, Randal Kolo Muani for a reported fee of $96 million (£80 million).
The 24-year-old reputation skyrocketed at the Qatar 2022 World Cup scoring as a substitute in the semi finals against Morocco and his general performance in the final against Argentina for Les Bleues.
The French striker capable of playing on the right wing, has scored eight goals and 11 assists from 23 appearances across all competitions.
Kolo Muani joined Frankfurt for $16.9 million from Nantes last summer signing a deal until June 2027. Time will tell if he is willing to make the move this early into his Frankfurt career.
