Will The Rock make his long-awaited return at Royal Rumble?
The Royal Rumble is one of the WWE’s marquee events.
The traditional start on the road to Wrestlemania, the Rumble has been the location of many of WWE’s iconic moments. Often containing multiple surprises, the January event is the time of year when many superstars map out their Wrestlemania targets, but could we see The Rock return at this year’s show?
WILL THE ROCK BE AT ROYAL RUMBLE THIS YEAR?
With Wrestlemania headed to California this year, the rumour mill was red hot regarding an appearance from The Rock. Although no official confirmation exists regarding his return, the WWE’s poster for the event is littered with electric bolts perhaps signalling that ‘The most electrifying man in sports entertainment’ could show up.
WHEN WAS THE ROCK’S LAST ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH?
Although he made an appearance at the end of the 2015 Royal Rumble to endorse Roman Reigns, The Rock’s last match at the event was in 2013 when he faced CM Punk. The Rock defeated the Chicago native in a solid encounter as he became world champion.
WHO COULD THE ROCK POTENTIALLY FACE AT ROYAL RUMBLE?
There’s only one name that The Rock could oppose at Wrestlemania and that’s Roman Reigns. A match between the pair would do huge business and The Rock could get one step closer to that showdown by winning the Royal Rumble.
