This Nissan GT-R R36 NISMO Render Suggests A Bright Future For The High-Performance Car

This automotive designer adds a NISMO version to a previous GT-R render that would be a welcome look for the next-generation R36 GT-R.

Speculation continues to surround the future of the Nissan GT-R and what the R36, next generation of the high performance sports car from Nissan will bring in terms of performance and design. Automotive renderer on YouTube, Hycade already has provided one possible look at a future GT-R R36 and now has included a render of a NISMO version of his previous design.

The sleek looking JDM car has a striking design that feels like a natural evolution for the GT-R. Only time will tell if Hycade’s vision for the GT-R reflects where Nissan intends to take the car.

The New Nissan GT-R R36 NISMO Render

Hycade already came up with a Nissan GT-R render in what would be a hypothetical next generation of the standard GT-R, already a powerful sports car. The NISMO design from Hycade largely follows the previous design, without major changes to the overall appearance of the car.

The rear splitter on the NISMO version is more prominent, which isn’t unexpected and the rear wing on the NISMO version is different, more reflective of a higher-horsepower car.

The NISMO version appears to use racing tires and has NISMO badging with a more prominent side air intake. The front design of the NISMO stays close to the previous GT-R render, with the main changes being slight differences in the hood and the lighting but otherwise stays close to the other render.

The combination of changes feels realistic for the type of aesthetic differences that Nissan would be likely to implement on a future Nissan GT-R NISMO sports car.

The 2023 Nissan GT-R NISMO JDM icon uses a 600-horsepower NISMO tuned 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that increases the horsepower from the already powerful GT-R. The car outputs 481 lb-ft of torque along with an all-wheel drive drivetrain.

The NISMO GT-R uses a continuously variable valve timing control system on for the intake valves, an aluminum cylinder block with high endurance/low-friction plasma sprayed bores, aluminum pistons, a Nissan Direct Ignition System and iridium-tipped spark plugs.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO gets differentiated from the standard GT-R – in addition to the NISMO tuning – with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, a NISMO tuned-suspension, NISMO aerodynamic body design and Recaro leather-appointed front seats.

Enthusiasm for the Nissan GT-R remains high and the possibility of a future generation and what it may bring is highly anticipated despite the limited information Nissan has thus far provided. The success of the latest generation of the Nissan Z sports car could be a good indication of great things to look forward to for fans of the GT-R.
