Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema enjoyed tremendous success as teammates at Real Madrid, winning four Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, three Club World Cups and several other trophies during their time together at the Santiago Bernabeu. They were two key parts of one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.
Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 to join Juventus, which led to Benzema becoming the face of the team. The Frenchman has done a wonderful job in the role as well, guiding the club to the Champions League last season and winning the Ballon d’Or for his efforts.
Real Madrid are currently in Riyadh, ready to play the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona. Ronaldo, having recently joined Al-Nassr, paid a visit to his former teammates and coach and was spotted speaking to a number of them, although Benzema was nowhere to be seen.
Unsurprisingly, that led to speculation about there being a rift between the two Real Madrid legends. But Benzema was quick to put such rumours to bed. As reported by MARCA (via GOAL), he said:
“We don’t need to take photos to say we’re friends, the photos are for Instagram or Twitter, that’s another world.
“We didn’t have time to greet each other because I was training and immediately he also went to train. I hope to see him tomorrow at the stadium and be able to talk to him for a while.”

Benzema will be looking to guide Real Madrid to another title, as Los Blancos take on Barcelona in an El Clasico Spanish Super Cup final.
On the other hand, Ronaldo is starting out on a new adventure, having recently joined Al-Nassr after his second stint at Manchester United came to an abrupt end following the release of his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
Of course, the move to Al-Nassr has drawn a lot of criticism from fans and the media alike, but it is important to remember that he will be turning 38 years of age next month. There is no doubt that he is one of the greatest Real Madrid players ever and all we can do is wish him the best of luck in his new journey.
Exciting Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid transfer update
Jude Bellingham is believed to be the top priority for Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window. The English midfielder has taken the footballing world by storm with his performances at just the age of 19 and has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world, as he looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of this campaign.
Bellingham ticks all the boxes that one could look for in a modern midfielder. He has the physical attributes, the technical ability, the leadership quality having captained Borussia Dortmund already, is proven at the very top level and at 19 years of age, is expected to only get better moving forward.
Borussia Dortmund are expected to look for a huge transfer fee in order to part ways with Bellingham and that is understandable. On the other hand, the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with him, alongside Real Madrid.
But as reported by MARCA, Real Madrid are determined to sign Bellingham and believe that they have taken all the necessary steps to complete the transfer move. The club have demonstrated their respect towards Borussia Dortmund and the Englishman also knows how far Los Blancos can go and has accepted the position of the club’s leaders. This does not mean a deal has been agreed but he knows what the Spanish giants can offer him.
Thus, it looks like Real Madrid are leaving no stones unturned to make sure that they are successful in their chase to sign Bellingham.
Of course, nothing is over the line yet and they cannot afford to get confident just yet, considering the calibre of the clubs also in the race to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
Rumours have suggested though that Real Madrid are the ones in the driver’s seat at this point of time. Now, it remains to be seen if they are ultimately successful in signing Bellingham.
